Osteopathy

A treatment you’ll never forget.

The application of osteopathic manual therapy aims at restoring function and mobility, reducing pain, improving circulation, and normalizing the nervous system. We place great emphasis on homeostasis and balance, optimize the body’s own natural ability to heal.

In addition to treating musculoskeletal conditions like back pain, joint disorders, and sports injuries, osteopathy is often used to address other health concerns, including headaches, digestive disorders, respiratory conditions, neurological disorders, brain injuries, sleep disorders, and mental and stress-related issues.

Through osteopathic treatment, you will experience less pain, have more energy and resilience, and your mobility and overall physical function will improve. You will recover, restore and regenerate faster than ever before.

unity

Core Principles

We believe the body functions as a balanced unit, and when functioning optimally the body is able to heal itself. However, over time, your body may weaken, losing its innate ability to adapt and heal efficiently. This may be as a result of illness, stress, trauma, injuries, or simply due to the natural aging process.

Our treatments are designed to help address the underlying causes of your health issues. We will help you manage your own wellness and health more efficiently to live a vibrant and full life.

gentle

gentle

Osteopathy uses gentle touch skills.

We follow a non-invasive therapeutic approach, taking into account the interconnectedness of the body’s systems. Unique treatment options are used with a wide range of gentle manual manipulation techniques, like myofascial and visceral release, joint mobilization, and cranial sacral therapy.

What To Expect

We have implemented excellent protocols to ensure the health and safety of our clients, staff, and community. Due to the nature of our work and close proximity to one another during treatments, we continue to require that everyone wear a mask while in the clinic. If you are feeling unwell, we ask that you reschedule your appointment to help us maintain the health and well-being of all clients and staff. We will continue a high level of sanitization. We greatly appreciate your understanding of the extra steps required to ensure everyone’s safety.

On your very first visit to our clinic, our practitioner will conduct a full health survey. You will have the opportunity to tell us about your pain and any health issues that you had in the past or are currently experiencing and also tell us about any medical interventions and treatments that you have had. The practitioner will then work with you to discuss any other issues that might be relevant to the condition, before performing a full and complete physical assessment. This helps us to rule out any major causes while also giving us a better understanding of your condition. We will then work with you to develop a treatment plan. Your practitioner may also provide advice on diet, posture, exercise and lifestyle if this is appropriate, as this may help to alleviate the severity of your condition.

Normal underwear and loose clothing are always the best options. Consider sweatpants, leggings or shorts, and a t-shirt for your own comfort.

We believe and understand that every person is different, and everybody needs some time to adapt after every treatment. Some clients need only a couple of appointment; others may have a course of therapy or return periodically for the long-term management and prevention of conditions. Normally the treatment of a client is determined according to their progression rather than the prescription of a set number of treatment sessions.

Treatments are not covered by MSP.
However, you may be able to claim treatments under some Extended Health Care Plans (Sun Life, Great West Life, Empire Life, Manulife, RWAM, Pacific Blue Cross, Greenshield, Industrial Alliance and Wawanesa) or an existing Corporate Health Care Expense account, contact your health plan or HR for more information.

If you cannot come to your session, please do let us know 24-hours in advance else you will be charged the full amount of the appointment. The same concept applies to no-shows. We do understand that in some exceptional circumstances this is not possible. A flexible cancellation policy applies if you have COVID-19 symptoms.
